Tonights NHL Picks October 31st 2014

We went 1-2 last night for a small loss of 1.26 units. We hit the over in Tampa Bay with 7 goals, we were just 1 goal shy of cashing our second over in the Colorado/New York game. The Avalanche did their part putting 5 goals on the board in that one, the 2nd highest scoring team in the League couldn’t score one lousy goal for us to send the game over the total.
The Bruins defeated the Sabres in overtime handing us a 1 unit loss on the puck line.
Four games on the board tonight, this one stands out:

Toronto Maple Leafs @ Columbus Blue Jackets: MAPLE LEAFS 1.99
Risk: 2 Units | Win: 1.98 Units (Members Only Pick)
The Blue Jacket have been bitten by the injury bug, as they are currently without a list of 10 players including goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky, who is sidelined with a fractured finger.  Foligno is questionable tonight, Anisimov is doubtful, Letestu is out until late November, Calvert, Wisniewski, Horton, Dubinsky, Gibbons, and Jenner are also out for the Jackets. The Leafs blanked Buffalo 4-0 on Tuesday and have likely gained some confidence back, as their last win came one week prior against the Islanders (5-2). The Blue Jackets have lost three in a row, and were outscored 14-5 in their last three games. The Blue Jackets and the Maple Leafs are both currently scoring 2.78 goals per game overall, however the Maple Leafs are scoring 3.67 goals per game on the road, while the Jackets are scoring an even 3.00 goals per game at Home. The Leafs have the edge on defense, as they are allowing 2.78 goals against per game, compared to 3.33 goals against per game that the Blue Jackets are allowing. Note that the Leafs road defense is allowing just 2.00 GA/GP while the Jackets allow 3.25 GA/GP at Home. The Leafs have the Blue Jackets dominated on the penalty kill, as the Leafs have a 9th overall 85.3 PK%, while Columbus ranks 24th at 78.6%. Curtis McElhinney will likely start for Columbus tonight as Bobrovsky is out with a fractured finger. Curtis made two appearances this season, allowing 2 goals on 17 shots against Ottawa (.882 SV%) and allowed 5 goals on 34 shots (.853 SV%) against Ottawa on Tuesday. Curtis currently has a 4.83 GAA and a .863 SV%. We will likely see Jonathan Bernier in goal for Toronto tonight, he has made four straight starts for the Leafs and is 2-3-1 on the season with a 2.83 GAA and a .910 SV%. The Blue Jackets have lost three in a row and they likely aren’t going to snap that streak tonight against Toronto. Take the (mostly) healthy Leafs to defeat Columbus tonight.
