New York Islanders @ New York Rangers: ISLANDERS 2.29
Risk: 2 Units | Win: 2.58 Units

The New York Rangers are coming off of a 6-3 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday. Lundqvist had a rough go against the Leafs, allowing 6 goals on 24 shots. Needless to say, he was pulled after 35:13 on the ice and was relieved by Talbot whom finished his time on the ice with a shutout, stopping all 12 shots against him. Lundqvist is confirmed in goal for the Rangers tonight with his 1-1 record, 5.05 GAA and .837 SV%. The Islanders opened up their season with back-to-back victories over the Carolina Hurricanes, outscoring the Canes 9-6 over the weekend. The Rangers may have won 3 of 5 meetings against the Islanders last season however this is NOT the same Islanders club from last season. Jaroslav Halak is a major upgrade for the Isles in the goaltending department, as well as backup Chad Johnson (formerly from the Bruins last season with a .925 SV% and a 2.10 GAA). Also note that Tavares is back in the line-up after sustaining a knee injury last February and missing the latter part of the season. Tavares had 66 points for the Isles last season in just 59 games before his knee injury. John put up 5 points in the two games against the Hurricanes over the weekend which included 1 goal and 4 assists. The future for the Islanders looks promising if they can keep a healthy roster this season. This line opened up at 2.42 which is just ridiculous odds on the Islanders tonight. Naturally, the line has dropped quite a bit as bettors see the value on the Islanders. Take this generous price on the Islanders and look for them to start their season 3-0 with a victory over their state rivals tonight.
