Here’s a free NHL Pick for tonight:

LA Kings @ Edmonton Oilers: UNDER 5 Goals 2.01

The Los Angeles Kings are on a six game win streak dating back to February 6th. In those six games, just one of them has gone over the total, and the last four games in a row have stayed under the total, all totals set at 5 goals. The Kings have allowed just 1 goal per game in each of their last three games, while putting 8 goals of their own on the board. Jonathan Quick (probable) has allowed just 1 goal on18 shots in each of his last two games, finishing both with an impressive .944 SV%. This game features two of the best goaltenders in the League right now. Ben Scrivens is confirmed to start, and has the best save percentage in the League (.935 SV%) and is tied for the second best goals against average, a very impressive 2.02 GAA. Scrivens has 4 shut-outs, ranked 3rd. Jonathan Quick, probable for Sunday, is the goalie tied with Scrivens for the 2nd best goals against average, (2.02) and has a save percentage of .916, ranked 19th. Quick has won five in a row, and is 20-13-2 on the season. It’s no surprise that the Kings have the best defense in the NHL, allowing just 2.05 goals against per game overall, 2.20 GA/G over their last 10 games, and just 1 goal per game in each of their last 3. The Los Angeles offense is the 4th worst in the NHL scoring just 2.33 goals per game on average, while the Oilers are 22nd overall with 2.47 goals per game. Note that the Oilers defense is the 2nd worst in the League (3.22 GA/G) however they have allowed just 2.00 goals against per game over their last 10 games, while scoring just 2.00 goals per game. The Edmonton penalty kill has gone 90.0% over their L10 games, while their power play was effective a mere 10% of the time. The Kings also have low power play numbers, going 15.8% on the power play over their last 10 games, and are just 14.4% (26th) on the power play overall. We have two solid defenses accompanied by two solid goaltenders, nothing here indicates a high scoring game. Stick with the under for a good price.
