Pittsburgh Penguins @ Columbus Blue Jackets: PENGUINS 2.04

*This line has already dropped to 2.02 since beginning to write this, you might want to lock this one in early before the Penguins become the Favorites *

Great value here on the Penguins as dogs against Columbus. The Pittsburgh Penguins must be getting tired of losing by now. The Pens have lost three in a row, and were out-scored 7-4. Bad streaks can’t last forever. The game between Pittsburgh and Los Angeles last night (underdog winner on LA for members: 2.16) took an interesting toll after Pittsburgh was denied a “goal” late in the 3rd, that was ruled goaltender interference. After the Pens found out it was no goal, they (along with the tens of thousand of fans) were absolutely pissed off. Their aggressiveness and pressure on the fore check was very impressive late in the third, it looked like they were going to score on several occasions to send the game to extra minutes. Unfortunately for the Penguins, that didn’t happen, and they suffered their 3rd loss in a row. Tonight is the opportunity for the Pens to get back in the win column. The Blue Jackets have split their last 10 decisions, however they have scored just 1.90 goals per game over their last 10 games, and have allowed 2.30 goals against per game. The Penguins are one of the best offensive teams in the NHL overall, scoring an average of 3.03 goals per game, however they have been having a hard time finding the back of the net lately, scoring just 2.50 goals per game over their last 10 games. The Pittsburgh defense now ranks 11th overall with 2.48 goals against per game, and 2.60 GA/G over their last 10 games. Not the best to lose their second point leader (Malkin) to an ankle injury. The Blue Jackets power play is practically useless, having converted on just 5.1% of their opportunities over their last 10 games, while the Penguins have hit 14.6% of their power plays over their L10. Overall, the Penguins have the second best power play in the NHL (was number 1 earlier this week) at 23.7%, while the Blue Jackets rank 18th with 17.3%. Fleury is confirmed to start tonight for Pittsburgh as Zatkoff faced the Kings last night. Fleury has lost his past 5 starts so he will want to get back to his winning ways tonight against Columbus. Fleury is 34-17-4 with a 2.37 GAA (13th) and a .915 SV% (20th). Sergei Bobrovsky is probable for Columbus, is 27-19-4 on the season with a .919 SV% (13th) and 2.47 GAA (20th). We’ll take the generous price on Pittsburgh tonight and will look for them to snap their three game skid at the expense of the Blue Jackets.
