A free pick for Sunday:

(4 Units) Nashville Predators @ Chicago Blackhawks: Blackhawks in regulation 1.73

The Blackhawks continue to impress, having won back to back games, out-scoring their opponents 7-2, a 4-0 shutout against the best team in the NHL and a 3-2 victory over Carolina on Friday. The Predators defeated Calgary 6-5 on Friday but had lose three in a row before that, scoring just 2 goals in 3 games while allowing 11 goals against. The Predators are allowing lots of goals and must face the highest scoring offense in the NHL. The Predators have scored just 2.10 goals per game over their last 10 games, while allowing 2.80 goals against per game and have scored just 1 goal or less 60% of the time over their last 10 games. Aside from the score-fest in Calgary on Friday, the Nashville offense has had a tough time finding the back of the net, while the Blackhawks defense has been solid allowing just 1.90 goals against per game over their last 10 games and kept the St.Louis Blues scoreless on Wednesday. The Blackhawks are still the highest scoring team in the NHL with an average of 3.31 goals per game. The Nashville penalty kill unit is the 5th worst in the League at 79.6% and have allowed goals on 2 of their last 3 penalty kills. The Chicago power play wasn’t successful against Carolina despite getting 5 opportunities, however the Blackhawks scored on 2 of 3 chances against St. Louis (4th place penalty kill: 85.5%). Pekka Rinne is probable for the Predators and allowed 4 goals on 18 shots against Calgary on Friday and finished his time on the ice with a .778 SV% before being relieved by Hutton. Rinne is just 6-9-1 on the season and has a .904 SV% and a 2.75 GAA. Rinne lost 5 of his past 8 starts and was pulled twice in his last three. Corey Crawford (27-12-10) is probable for Chicago with his 7th overall 2.21 GAA , and 13th place .919 SV%. The Blackhawks are 2nd in the Central Divsion, 4 points behind the St.Louis Blues. Chicago now holds a 3 point lead on the 3rd place Colorado Avalanche and have the opportunity to pick up an easy two points against Nashville. The Predators have just 70 points and are 12 overall in the Western Conference and hold the 6th place wild card spot. The Blackhawks have lost 2 of 3 meetings against Nashville this season but are going to even things up Sunday. They have won their last 3 games at home by a combined score of 11-3, and have won their last 3 of 4 overall. We’ll take the Blackhawks in regulation for four units.
