Tonights NHL Picks- March 14 2014

Another perfect night last night going 2-0, cashing an even money winner on our members only pick (NY/MIN U5), and another winner on the Bruins in regulation time. We add another 3.66 units to the bankroll. We have a members only pick for tonight, we are getting exceptional value on this one:

Anaheim Ducks @ Colorado Avalanche: AVALANCHE 2.10

What a great gift we are receiving here. The Anaheim Ducks have lost four games in a row, three of which at Home, which for most of the season no one could beat the Ducks at Home in regulation time. The Ducks were absolutely embarrassed in their last game, receiving a 7 goal pounding by the Calgary Flames (27th overall for scoring with just 2.35 G/G) while scoring just 2 goals of their own against the weak Calgary defense (25th, 2.92 GA/G). The Anaheim club is now 43-16-7 on the season, 24-6-4 at Home and 19-10-3 on the road. The Ducks offense is 3rd best in the NHL overall scoring an average of 3.15 goals per game this season, but note that they have scored just 2.10 goals per game over their last 10 games, while allowing 2.80 goals against per game over their L10. Overall, the Anaheim defense is 8th with 2.44 GA/G. The Colorado Avalanche are doing great things. They have surpassed the Blackhawks in the Central Division standings, sitting 2nd with 91 points, and have won 2 games in a row, and 6 of their last 7 overall. The Colorado offense is 3 places below the Anaheim offense (6th overall) scoring 3.02 goals per game, however the Avs have scored 3.40 goals per game over their last 10. The Avalanche defense allows 2.59 goals against per game overall (14th). The Ducks power play has not been converting as of late, having 9 attempts with no luck, and have converted just 5.9% of the time over their last 10 games. The Avalanche sit 10th in the power play department (20.0%) and are 21.6% on the power play over their last 10 games. Semyon Varlamov is confirmed to start for Colorado, and has the 5th best save percentage in the League (.926) as well as a 2.44 GAA (17th) and a record of 33-12-5. Jonas Hiller is listed as probable for Anaheim. Hiller allowed 3 goals against on just 5 shots in the 7-2 loss to Calgary on Wednesday, finishing the game with an embarrassing .400 SV%. Hiller has lost each of his last three starts, an is 26-10-6 season-to-date with a .915 SV% (21st) and a 2.34 GAA (14th). We’re getting great value here on the Avalanche at this price tonight against Anaheim. The Ducks are looking to win their first game since March.2nd tonight, however it will not come easy against the red-hot avalanche. To get the Avalanche at this price provides exceptional value for us, we will gladly take them tonight for 2 units.
