A terrible display by the Tampa Bay Lightning last night. The Flyers scored the most goals at Home since Feb. 2012 at the expense of the Lightning, which includes four goals in less than the first nine minutes of the first period!
Before the end of the second period the Flyers were up 7-1!
Nabokov started in goal for Tampa and faced just 13 shots and had allowed 4 goals before being relieved by Ben Bishop. Bishop didn’t do much better, allowing 3 goals on a mere 12 shots.
Lets put last night behind us and move on to Tuesday where we have more than three games to choose from.
One play locked in for tonight so far. We are getting great odds on Florida tonight. The Tampa/Boston line hasn’t been released yet, (it will be interesting to see where the Bolts open after that abomination last night) so if we decide to add anything in that game we’ll send out another email.
Florida Panthers @ Winnipeg Jets: PANTHERS 2.25
Risk: 2 Units | Win: 2.50 Units
The Florida Panthers come into this game just one spot shy of the second Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference, the Boston Bruins currently hold the second wild card spot with 50 points in 43 games played. Florida has just one point less than the Bruins (49 points), and have played three fewer games than Boston has. A win tonight (and a loss for Boston) will propel the Panthers into a playoff spot. The Jets are currently in playoff contention, in the first place Wild Card spot with 50 points in 43 games, although they have lost 6 of their last 10 games, and 3 of their last 4. It is interesting to note that the Florida offense is just 25th overall with 2.38 goals per game, but have scored 3.10 goals per game over their last 10 games, which includes an impressive 13 goals across their last three games, an average of 4.33 goals per game. The Jets have been struggling on defense, this is an opportune time for the Panthers to continue
lighting the lamp tonight. The Jets have allowed at least 4 goals in each of their last three contests, which totals 13 goals against per game over their last three games, which is precisely how many goals the Panthers scored in their last three games. Roberto Luongo won each of his last two starts, facing 33 shots in each contest, allowing just 1 goal against his former Vancouver club (.970 SV%), and just 2 goals against Edmonton in a 4-2 Florida victory on Sunday (.939 SV%). Roberto is probable for Florida this evening and is 17-7-7 on the season with a 2.23 GAA and a .927 SV%, and will likely see Ondrej Pavelec at the other end of the ice tonight. Ondrej, like the Jets defense in general, is struggling right now, and has lost each of his last four starts, and allowed a whopping 18 goals in those four games. His last victory came back on December 16th against the Buffalo Sabres. The Florida Panthers are 11-6-4-2 on the road this
season, which is actually better than their home record of 9-5-0-3. The Jets are 9-9-2-1 at Home, and have lost four of their last five games at the MTS Centre. This is a fantastic price on Florida tonight in a game that could go either way. The Panthers are playing well and can actually make it into the post season as long as they continue to play solid hockey. Take this generous price on Florida over Winnipeg tonight.
