Tonights NHL Picks February 11th 2015

1-0 last night cashing our 4 unit play on the Rangers for a profit of 2.88 units.

Three games on the board, two picks for tonight:

Vancouver Canucks @ Chicago Blackhawks: CANUCKS +0.5 in regulation 2.06

Risk: 2 Units | Win: 2.12 Units

What a great price on Vancouver +0.5 in regulation time tonight. We are getting the Canucks at (slightly more than) even money and they don’t even have to win the game. For those of you unfamiliar with this type of wager, it means that the Canucks don’t have to win the game at all, they must simply make it to overtime for this one to cash. If the game were tied at the end of regulation time, the Canucks win by half of a point. They can also win the game in regulation time of course. Not all sports books offer this type of wager, this was taken from Pinnacle Sports. The Blackhawks are coming off of a 3-2 shootout loss to the Arizona Coyotes on Monday, the Blackhawks were huge favorites but couldn’t get the job done. The Blackhawks have lost five of their last ten games and were shutout twice and managed to score just 2.60 goals per game over that span while allowing 2.40 goals against per game. Vancouver is 15-9-2 on the road this season
(29-20-2-1 overall) and are coming off of a 5-3 loss via the Minnesota Wild. Ryan Miller allowed 5 goals on 18 shots to finish with a .722 SV%. The Wild scored on their first or second shot of the game, and the goals just continued from there. Ryan was eventually relieved by Lack who stopped all 14 shots against him. Prior to that loss the Canucks blanked the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-0, Ryan Miller put up a perfect performance in that one, stopping all 31 shots against him. Which Ryan Miller will show up tonight? The Blackhawks offense ranks 8th overall with 2.91 goals per game so the Canucks will certainly need solid goaltending tonight. Both clubs share similar strength when it comes to special teams, as the Canucks have an 18.2% success rate on the power play while Chicago is 18.3%, while the Blackhawks have the best penalty kill in the NHL at 87.5%, Vancouver is not far behind in the fourth place position with a 85.6 PK%. The last ten
meetings between the Canucks and Blackhawks have seen extra minutes 50% of the time, and remember that the Canucks only have to make it to overtime for this to be a winner. The Blackhawks have seen extra minutes twice in their last three games. Ryan Miller is probable for the Canucks with a record of 25-14-1, a 2.45 GAA and a .913 SV%, and is 2nd overall in shutouts with 6. Corey Crawford is 21-12-2 on the season with a 2.25 GAA and a .921 SV%, and has just one shutout this season. Take this generous price on the Canucks +0.5 in regulation time tonight.
