Tonights NHL Picks December 18th 2014

We snapped our winning streak last night as the Stars/Canucks game stayed under the total in a 2-0 Dallas victory.
Seven games in the league tonight, the Avalanche/Penguins line is down at the moment so if we decide to make a play in that once the line is released we will send out an email.
As of right now we will stick with one play for tonight, a sensational price on the Blues against the Kings.

St. Louis Blues @ LA Kings: BLUES 2.27
Risk: 2 Units | Win: 2.54 Units
The St. Louis Blues have won five in a row (two of which came on the road), and are fourth overall in the League standings with 44 points. St. Louis trails the league-leading Anaheim Ducks by just three points, and the Ducks have two games on the Blues. The Blues are 2nd in the Central Division standing, behind the Blackhawks which have one more point (45 points) but have played one more game than the Blues have. A regulation time victory for St. Louis tonight will propel them into the 1st place position in the Central Division standings. The Kings are struggling right now, the last victory for the Los Angeles Kings came back on December 11th, a 5-3 victory over the Ottawa Senators. Since then, the Kings have lost three in a row, and were outscored 15-7 in those three games. The Blues are one of the highest scoring teams in the NHL, currently ranked 7th overall on offense with 2.94 goals per game, while Los Angeles ranks 18th in scoring with 2.59 goals per game. Martin Brodeur is confirmed to start for the Blues tonight which is likely why we are receiving such great odds on the Blues. Martin has made three appearances with the Blues this season and won 2 of 3 of those games, and currently has a 2.64 GAA and a .904 SV%. Brodeur played great in his last start against Florida, stopping 32 of 34 shots against him, finishing the game with a .941 save percentage. The St. Louis defense is ranked 4th overall as they allow just 2.26 goals against per game played. The Kings defense is also tight as they are 6th overall (2.31 GA/GP). The NHL’s third best power play belongs to St. Louis (24.3%) which will face the 14th overall Los Angeles penalty kill unit (81.1 PK%). Note that the Kings have gone just 73.1% on the penalty kill over their last 10 games, while the Blues are 23.1% on the power play across their last 10 games. The Kings power play is one of the worst in the League, currently ranked 21st overall (15.6 PP%) and have scored on just 11.4% of their chances over their last 10 games, while the Blues are a solid 86.1 % on the penalty kill (L10 games). These clubs met twice already this season, and the season-series is tied 1-1 as the Kings won 1-0 back on Oct.16th, while the Blues got their revenge just two days ago in a 5-2 victory over the Kings. Jonathan Quick is probable for the Kings tonight and has lost 4 of his last 5 starts, which includes the 5-2 loss against the Blues on Tuesday; Quick finished the game with a .818 SV%. The Blues have the advantage in almost every department tonight and we are getting a sensational price on them (2.27). Take this generous price on the Blues to defeat the Kings for the second time this week and take the first place position in the Central Division Standings.
