With 8 games on board tonight we go with 3 selections:

Calgary Flames @ Washington Capitals Over 5.5 Goals 2.06 BetOnline

The Capitals have their home opener tonight in Washington, with Braden Holtby confirmed to start in net for the Caps. Holtby allowed 5 goals in 34 shots Tuesday evening against Chicago. On the other end of the ice we have Karri Ramo as the probable starter for the Flames. Ramo is returning to the NHL after playing in the KHL last season.  Mikhail Grabovski made his debut for the Capitals on Tuesday scoring a hat trick and adding 1 assist. We look for some more offensive power from the capitals tonight in their home-opener, and maybe a few goals by the Flames to put this one over the total. The obvious play here would be the Capitals to win, but the juice is just too high (1.481 or -208), which also makes the puck line juice just a little too high for this early in the season. We hope for some nice offensive numbers tonight by Washinton and for the Flames to put a couple past Holtby to send this one OVER 5.5 Goals.

Tampa Bay Lightening @ Boston Bruins Over 5.5 Goals 1.943 BetOnline

In just 7 preseason games, the Boston Bruins averaged 3.43 goals per game and also managed to allow an average of 2.43 GA. Boston dominated the preseason winning 6 and losing only 1. Tampa Bay however were not far behind. They went 5-2 in the preseason, scoring 25 Goals (3.57/Game) and allowing 22 goals (3.14 GAA).  Again, these numbers are from the preseason, but since it is the start of the season there are not many other statistics we can use to predict tonight’s outcome. Expect an offesive battle tonight in Boston, where the atmosphere should be absolutley intense as it is the Bruins home opener after their stellar performance last year nearly winning the Stanley Cup. Again, we like the Bruins to win but the juice is just too high. Go with the OVER tonight in Boston.

Vancouver Canucks @ San Jose Sharks: Sharks 1.72 BetOnline

If you remeber last years playoffs, you remember that the Sharks swept the Canucks in just 4 games. The Canucks went 2-4 in the preseason, while San Jose managed to go 4-1-1. The Shark Tank in San Jose should be wild this evening for the Sharks home opener. There are not too many arenas quite like the Shark Tank. We look for the Sharks to use home ice advantage to the fullest tonight, and look for them to once again upset the Canucks. Niemi is the confirmed starter, and Luongo is probable.
