October 30th 2013 Free NHL Picks

Another PERFECT night again last night as we went 2-0 with our picks. The Leafs dominated the Oilers and the Habs shut down the Stars. That makes SIX STRAIGHT WINNERS IN A ROW for us, for a profit of 12.54 units. Let the winning streak continue tonight with these two picks:

Toronto Maple Leafs @ Calgary Flames : Maple Leafs 1.93 & Over 5.5 Goals 1.86

*These are two separate picks for the same game. This is NOT a parlay.*

The Toronto Maple Leafs were awarded another win last night when they beat the Edmonton Oilers by a score of 4-0. The Leafs are now 9-4-0 on the season (4-2 Away). Tonight we have two offensive units that are averaging more than 3 goals for per game, with the Leafs at 3.31 G/G (4th in League)  and the Flames at 3.09 G/G (9th in League). The Maple Leafs allow plenty of shots against them, at 35.5 Shots Against per game (2nd worst in League) but their defense manages to stop most of them (so far). Last night the Leafs (and Reimer) were out shot 43-26 and allowed zero goals. When you allow 40+ shots a game, sooner or later it will catch up and there will be goals scored. The Flames offense manages more shots per game than the Leafs, at 29.5 Shots (Leafs are at 26.8 S/G). The Calgary Flames defense needs to tighten up a bit, as they are allowing 3.46 G/G, which is second worst in the league, with the Oilers sitting in dead last at 3.79 GA/G. We seen what happens last night when the Leafs meet a team that allows 3.5+ goals per game. Karri Ramo is the probable starter for the Flames tonight, he has gone 2-2-1 for a GAA of 3.56 and a .892 SV%. The other option is Joey MacDonald, who also allows 3+ goals at 3.01 GAA and a .894 SV%. Note that on No Days Rest, the Leafs are 2-0. On three or more days rest, the Flames are 0-1-0-1 (0-1 after a win, which they won their last game 5-2 against Washington). The Leafs are 26.1% on the Powerplay, which is second best in the entire League. They will face the Flames Penalty Kill, which is the third worst in the League, at 75.7%. The Flames are 19% on the Powerplay, which is 17th in League. The Leafs are taking 14.1 PIM/G and the Flames are a little more disciplined, at 9.4 PIM/G. The two goaltending options for the Leafs are Bernier (2.34 GAA, .930SV%) and Reimer (1.99 GAA, .949 SV%), who have a combined .941 Save Percentage between them. The Maple Leafs should be able to score at least 3 or 4 goals tonight, as they are scoring 3+ a game and the Flames allow 3+ goals against, as well as either goaltender for the Flames. Hopefully, the Flames can put a few on the board as they are known to score goals themselves, they just don’t do as good of a job at stopping them as the Leafs do. We will go with the Leafs to win tonight for a decent price, and look for this one to go OVER 5.5 goals.
