A PERFECT Sunday for us as we went 3-0 with our picks and picked up 6.78 units. With 5 games on board tonight we have one pick that provides solid value:

Montreal Canadiens @ New York Rangers: Canadiens 2.04 BetOnline

The Montreal Canadiens are 6-5-0 on the season, and are 3-1 away from home. The New York Rangers will finally get their home opener tonight in the newly renovated Madison Square Garden. The Rangers are 3-6-0 on the season, all of which are on the road. We are getting the Canadiens tonight as underdogs at plus money, which provides excellent value for us.  The Canadiens are averaging exactly 3.00 goals per game, compared to the Rangers average of only 1.67 G/G. The New York Rangers will go with Henrik Lundqvist in goal tonight (confirmed), in 7 games played he has gone 2-4-0 with a 3.45 GAA and a .890 SV%. Peter Budaj will get the nod tonight for the Canadiens. He has played one game this season and saved 27 of 28 shots for a 1.00 GAA and a .964 SV%. He can expect about the same amount of shots tonight as the Rangers have an average of 29.3 Shots per game. One undesirable thing about these two teams is that they both take too many penalties. The Canadiens are 4th worst in the league for PIM/G at 15.3 minutes. The Rangers are slightly worse: they are 29th in the league with 17.4 PIM/G (behind the St.Louis Blues who are at 23.2 PIM/G). On the powerplay, the Habs have a 25% success rate (6th in NHL) and the Rangers aren’t quite as successful at 18.5% (17th in league).  The Canadiens should be able to score on a powerplay tonight as they should have a few opportunities. The Canadiens also excel on the Penalty Kill, as they are 82.2 PK% and the Rangers are a 80.6%. When it comes to defense, the Canadiens are allowing less goals, at 2.00 GA/G compared to the Rangers goals against average of 3.67 GA/G. The Habs have better offense, better defense, better special teams, and better goaltending tonight. Lets go with the Habs (at an excellent price) to upset the Rangers in their home opener tonight in New York.
