October 26th 2013 Free NHL Picks

A profitable night last night as our 4 unit pick on the Avalanche Puck Line was a WINNER. That one pick won us 6.6 units but the Leafs lost to the Blue Jackets, resulting in a 1-1 night for us and a total profit of 2.6 units. We have another strong 4 unit play on the Bruins to win in regulation today. Note that our first pick on the Oilers/Coyotes OVER starts at 3:00 EST.

Edmonton Oilers @ Phoenix Coyotes: Over 5.5 Goals 1.99
****This game starts at 3:00 PM EST.****

Both of these teams allow more than 3 goals against per game, with the Oilers averaging 3.91 GA/G and the Coyotes at 3.09 GA/G. Both  goaltenders for the Edmonton Oilers have a goals against average of over 3 goals, Devan Dubnyk (Oilers) has a 4.02 GAA (48th in the league), and a .878 SV% (43rd in the league). The other option for Edmonton is Jason LaBarbera, he currently sits with a 3.22 GAA (40th in league) and a .871 SV% (42nd in league). The probable starter for the Yotes this afternoon is Mike Smith, who has a 3.08 GAA (37th in league) and a .907SV% (34th in league). As you can see, none of these goaltenders are doing very good in goal so far this season. The two of these teams can also score goals, as the Oilers score an average of  2.73 G/G and the Coyotes 3.18 G/G. The Oilers have a terrible Penalty Kill unit (73.7 PK%: 28th or 3rd worst in the entire league) and the team takes an average of 12.5 PIM/G. The Coyotes powerplay is not too great but it isn’t the worst, they have an 18.0PP% (17th in League). We will take this OVER for nearly even money as both teams can score goals but don’t do the greatest job of stopping them from reaching their own net.

(4 Units) New Jersey Devils @ Boston Bruins: Bruins in Regulation 1.80

The 7-2-0 Boston Bruins will meet the 1-5-4 New Jersey Devils tonight in Boston. The Devils haven’t won a single game on the road (0-5-2) and the Bruins have gone 3-2 at Home. The New Jersey Devils as a team allow as many goals per game as the Bruins score, at 3.00 GA/G (Bruins average 3.00 G/G). The last game in which the Bruins met a team of this caliber was against the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday where the Bruins won 5-2. Note that Rask sat out that game and Chad Johnson was in goal. The Bruins out-shot the Sabres, and more than doubled their shots, at 34 compared to the Sabres 16 shots. In their latest game against the Sharks, the Bruins were out-shot 39-17 and still managed to win the game. Although it has been reported that Cory Schneider will be the Devils starting goaltender for the foreseeable future, Martin Brodeur has been confirmed in goal tonight. Brodeur has not won a game this season, he is 0-2-2 with a 3.40 GAA and a .865 SV%. Tuukka Rask is probable for the Bruins, he has gone 6-2-0 with an incredible 1.26 GAA (4th in league) and a .957 SV% (3rd in league).  We will back the Bruins tonight for what should be an easy victory in regulation time at home.
