Subban, Alex Galchenyuk (both Montreal), Dustin Byfuglien and Tobias Enstrom (both Winnipeg) make up 4 of the 6 players currently tied for second place in the “assists” column at 6 assists each. They were each actually tied for 1st place in assists up until yesterday when Nicklas Backstrom (Washington Capitals) gained 3 assists in yesterdays game against Edmonton. We also have a Montreal offense who are managing to score (an average of) 3.40 goals/game, and a defense that allows 2.00 goals against. Carey Price has been off to an okay start, he currently sits with a 2.27 GAA and a .929 SV%. Also take note to the fact that Montreal is average 20 penalty minutes each game, which is really 1/3 of the game: “1 period” with a player in the box. 20 penalty minutes per game is way too many penalties to be taking, and we look for the Jets to capitalize on a few powerplay chances tonight.
