Toronto Maple Leafs @ Nashville Predators: Maple Leafs 2.02 BetOnline

** This play was sent out to our email subscribers late last night. The odds have since changed as we expected. The Leafs are no longer underdogs. This is all the more reason to sign up for our emails as you would have received this pick last night.**

We have yet another scenario where the underdog shouldn’t be the underdog. Notice a trend? The Leafs are listed as underdogs here early but the line is bound to move making the Leafs the favorite (similar to Tampa Bay @ Buffalo Tuesday). Toronto is 3-1-0 (1-1 Home, 2-0 Away), are averaging 3.00 G/G (they scored 12 goals in their first 3 games) and allowing an average of 2.50. They are 23.5% on the powerplay (Nashville is 18.2%), 93.3% on the Penalty Kill (69.2% for Nashville). Nashville has a record of 1-2-0, are  scoring an average of 2.00 Goals/Game and allowing an average of 3.00 GA/G. There are no goalie confirmations yet- but Bernier is the probable starter for the Leafs. He is 2-1-0, and has a 1.17 GAA (3 goals on 80 shots) and a .963 SV%. Pekka Rinne is the probable for Nashville, and has gone 1-2-0 with a 3.26 GAA and a 907 SV%. Take the Leafs at plus money.

Carolina Hurricanes @ Washington Capitals: Hurricanes 2.38 BetOnline

We find good value here tonight with the Hurricanes. The Hurricanes are currently averaging 2.00 Goals Per Game, and are allowing an average of 3.00 goals against. The Capitals are managing to average 3.00 goals per game- but most those have occured on the powerplay. Washington has scored only 3 times in 3 games while not on the powerplay. They have  a 50% success rate on the power play, but are facing a Carolina squad who are managing to stop 75% of their opponents power plays so far this season (75% PK%).  The Capitals also have not been doing the greatest job stopping goals either as they are allowing an average of 4.00 GA. It’s one thing not to score goals- but when you allow more than you can score- you are in for serious trouble. Braden Holtby is confirmed to start tonight for the Capitals. He hasn’t been doing the greatest this season. Holtby currently sits 0-2 with a 4.47 GAA and a .848 SV%. On the other end of the ice we have Anton Khudobin and Cam Ward. Khudobin has played 1  game so far this season, and has 1 goal against on 18 shots (1 GAA , .944 SV%). Cam has played 2 games, and has allowed 8 goals on 75 shots (3.90 GAA, .893 SV%). Both of these teams really need to get their offense going, and may have a chance to score some goals tonight as neither team has had the best defense either. We will gladly take the Hurricanes tonight for plus money, as this matchup is pretty close to even.

Columbus Blue Jackets @ Buffalo Sabres: Sabres 2.10 BetOnline

The Sabres (0-3-1, 1.00 G/G, 2.50 GA/G) are looking for their first win of the season tonight in Buffalo in front of a home crowd. Buffalo hasn’t been scoring many goals as of late- but they are doing a good job of stopping them. We have Ryan Miller confirmed to start in goal tonight. Miller has saved Buffalo plenty of goals so far this season, as he has a 1.53 GAA and a .963 Sv%. Miller has allowed only 3 goals on 80 shots. The Sabres also have a solid penalty kill (90.9%). 3 of 4 of the Sabres games this season have been decided by only 1 goal. The game that wasn’t decided by one goal was their game against Pittsburgh Saturday which ended in a 4-1 loss, however Ryan Miller did not play that game. The Sabres must get their offense together soon; they NEED to start at least shooting at the net. They are only shooting an average of 24.8 shots per game which needs to increase. You cannot score if you don’t shoot! The Blue Jackets (1-1-0, 2.5 G/G, 3.00 GA/G) will be going with Sergei Bobrovsky in goal tonight. Sergei is 1-1-0 this season with a 2.89 GAA and a .900 SV%. We will go with the Sabres tonight as they have better defense and if they can score some goals tonight they should have no problem securing their first win of the season if front of a home crowd in Buffalo.
