We gave you another Free WINNER yesterday with the Detroit/Buffalo game staying under the 5 goal total for a great price of 2.14. We have two picks going tonight:
Los Angeles Kings @ Vancouver Canucks: KINGS 2.25
This is an exceptional price on the Kings tonight. I had to do a double take to make sure I was reading the odds correctly. The LA Kings are still without the services of Jonathan Quick but not to worry. Ben Scrivens has stepped in for Quick and has been playing incredible hockey in place of Quick. Scrivens has played 11 games, and has gone 5-1-3 in that span, but currently has an incredible goals against average of 1.37 GAA which is currently the BEST goals against average for a goaltender in the entire NHL right now. He also holds the 2nd best save percentage in the NHL with a .946 SV%. In his last six starts, Scrivens hasn’t allowed more than two goals in any one game and has a low 1.15 goals against average in his last 6 starts. The LA Kings defense allows 2.08 goals against per game (4th best in the NHL) but in their last 10 games they have allowed only 1.40 goals against per game. This is an incredible number. Also note that when the Kings play Away they allow only 1.91 goals against which is still phenomenal. The Kings offense are scoring 2.50 goals per game which is less than average (21st overall) but the Canucks are only scoring 2.56 goals per game and they don’t have defensive numbers like the Kings do. The Canucks allow 2.48 goals against per game and over their last 10 games are allowing 2.20 GA. When playing at Home, the Canucks allow 2.17 goals against. These two teams take almost exactly the same amount of penalties with the Kings at 11.3 PIM/G and the Canucks at 11.2 PIM/G. The Kings power play has been more successful than the Canucks, the Kings have a 18.9 PP% (14th overall) and the Canucks power play is 2nd worst in the League at 11.5 PP%. The Canucks have a slightly better penalty kill (89.2 PK%) but when the Kings play Away they are going 88.4% on the penalty kill. Roberto Luongo is the probable starter for the Canucks and has a 2.30 GAA and a .914 SV%. The LA Kings have great defensive numbers and Ben Scrivens is the better goaltender tonight. The LA kings goals have been down but over their last 10 games they have outscored the Canucks (2.40 goals Kings, 2.30 goals Canucks) and the Kings defense has been nearly unstoppable as of late. We will gladly back the Kings tonight for this great price.
Chicago Blackhawks @ Edmonton Oilers: OVER 5.5 Goals 1.83 BetOnline
The best offensive team in the NHL (Chicago Blackhawks: 3.50 Goals Per Game) will meet the 2nd worst defensive team in the NHL, the Edmonton Oilers (who allow 3.46 goals against per game) tonight in Edmonton. Devan Dubnyk will be the starter tonight for the Oilers (confirmed). Dubnyk has a terrible goals against average of 3.17 GAA and a .896 SV% and he must face the highest scoring team in the NHL. The Edmonton Oilers defense is terrible, allowing 3.46 goals per game. The Blackhawks defense isn’t the greatest either, as they allow 2.83 goals against per game which is 20th overall or 10th worst in the League. Also note that when the Blackhawks play Away, they allow even more goals, 3.00 goals against per game when playing on the road. In their last 10 games, the Blackhawks have allowed 3.10 goals against per game. The Oilers offense is scoring 2.62 goals per game (2.80 over their L10 games), and over their last 3 games the Oilers have scored 15 goals which is an average of 5 goals per game. They should be able to score a few tonight considering their opponents aren’t the greatest defensive team out there. 7 of the last 8 Blackhawks games have gone over the total, with all totals set at 5.5 Goals. The Oilers have a pretty decent power play squad that converts 21.5 % of the time which is 9th overall for PP%. The Blackhawks have terrible penalty kill numbers, they are currently sitting with a 72.5 PK% which is the 2nd WORST penalty kill in the League, behind the New York Islanders (70.3 PK%). Also note that these teams have already met once this season, on November 10th where there was 9 goals scored in a 5-4 Chicago victory. We will take this OVER tonight and wait for the goals to pile up in Edmonton.
