Tampa Bay Lightning @ Carolina Hurricanes: LIGHTNING 2.08

The Lightning are coming off a 5-4 loss against the San Jose Sharks yesterday while the Hurricanes are also playing on no rest, defeating the Florida Panthers 3-2 yesterday in Carolina. The Hurricanes are now 20-18-9 on the season, and 11-9-5 at Home while the Bolts are 28-16-5 and 14-10-2 Away. The Lightning are 5-1-1 on no days rest (3-1-1 after a loss) while the Hurricanes are 3-4-3 on no rest, and 2-2 after a win. The Lightning may have lost back to back games at Home, but they are 8-2 in their last 10 games on the road, and have won all 5 of the last 5 meetings in Carolina. The Tampa Bay offense has scored 3.10 goals per game over their last 10 games and have allowed just 2.60 goals against per game in that span. The Lightning are scoring 2.78 goals per game overall, ranked 11th overall while the Hurricanes sit in the 24th place spot for scoring with a mere 2.40 goals per game. The Carolina defense allows more goals on average than their offense can score, 2.74 goals against per game overall. The Tampa Bay power play is 18% overall (21st) while the Hurricanes are successful just 14.5% of the time (26th overall). The Bolts have had great success on the power play recently, having gone 25% on the power play over their last 10 games. Ben Bishop is probable for Tampa with a 23-6-4 record accompanied by a 1.90 GAA and a .935 SV%, while the Canes will likely turn to Justin Peters. Peters has gone 7-9-4 this season, has a 2.38 GAA and a .922 SV%. We will take the Lightning at a generous price and look for them to upset the Hurricanes at Home.
