We are back with a couple free picks for you tonight:

Winnipeg Jets @ Washington Capitals: JETS 2.19

The Jets are coming off two solid wins on the road (three wins in a row overall), both 2-1 victories, one against Montreal on Sunday and a win over Carolina on Tuesday. The Capitals suffered a 1-0 loss via the New York Islanders on Tuesday, cashing a nice underdog winner for us with the Islanders coming out on top. The Capitals are now just 3-7 over their last 10 games, and are now just 25-3-9 on the season (15-10-4 at Home), and are sitting in the 7th place spot in the Metropolitan division. The Capitals offense is nothing exceptional, as they are sitting in the 14th place spot for scoring with 2.74 goals per game, and have scored just 2.40 goals per game over their last 10 games, and managed to take just 22 shots on goal against the Islanders on Tuesday, finishing the game scoreless, marking the second game in the last 10 games where the Capitals couldn’t put a goal on the board. The Jets offense sits one place below the Capitals offense (15th) with 2.72 goals per game, however the Jets were able to score an average of 3.00 goals per game over their last 10 games, while allowing just 2.10 goals against per game in that span. Not only are the Capitals having a tough time scoring as of late, their defense has allowed 3.10 goals against per game over their last 10 games, while their offense could score just 2.40 G/G over that period. The Washington defense is 23rd overall, allowing 2.91 goals against per game. The Winnipeg defense is currently 20th overall with 2.81 GA/G. Neither power play has been very good for either club, as the Jets are just 11.1% on the power play over their last 10 games, while the Capitals were successful 14.9% of the time. The Jets penalty kill has been strong though, going 85.3% on the penalty kill, while the Capitals went 81.4% over their last 10 games. Also note that the Winnipeg club has won 5 of their last 6 games on the road. There’s great value here on the Jets at 2.19 in what should be a pretty even match-up tonight in Washington.

Columbus Blue Jackets @ LA Kings: BLUE JACKETS 2.40

What an exceptional price on the Blue Jackets tonight, this one is truly a gift. The Blue Jackets have been playing great hockey, while the Kings continue to lose games. The Los Angeles Kings are in rough shape, having lost four games in a row, and have lost 9 of their last 10 games overall, with their only recent win coming in a 1-0 decision over the Sharks back on January 27. Interestingly enough, the Kings were the favorites in 7 of their last 9 losses. Scoring has practically ceased for the LA club, as they have put an average of just 1.30 goals per game on the board over their last 10 games, and were held scoreless in 3 of those games. The Columbus offense has been absolutley sensational recently, scoring a blistering 3.70 goals per game over their last 10 games, while allowing just 2.50 goals against per game. The Kings may still have the best defense overall (1st: 2.12 GA/G) however they have allowed 2.90 goals againt per game over their last 10 games, and 11 goals against in their last 3 games, an average of 3.66 GA/G. The Blue Jackets have won three in a row, outscoring their opponents 13-5, their most recent victory coming against the Anaheim Ducks on Monday (in Anaheim), cashing a huge underdog winner for us. The Columbus special teams have also been great, as they have gone 23.7% on the power play over their last 10 games, and were a solid 88.9% on the penalty kill, while the Kings converted just 13.2% of the time on the power play, and have gone 73.5% on the penalty kill, which is actually worse than the worst penalty kill unit in the League (Panthers: 77.1% overall). Sergei Bobrovsky is probable for the Blue Jackets tonight and is 20-13-2 on the season, with a 2.53 GAA and a .917 SV%, while the Kings will likely turn to Jonathan Quick, with his record of 15-13-2, a 2.22 GAA and a .909 SV%. There is exceptional value on the surging Blue Jackets tonight against the Kings who are facing very tough times right now. We will gladly take the Blue Jackets tonight for a very generous price of 2.40.
