A 1-1 night with our system picks last night, picking up a small profit of 0.62 units. There’s three games on the board tonight, and we have one pick going for members:

Dallas Stars @ San Jose Sharks: STARS 2.77

*Risk: 2 Units | Win: 3.54 Units (Members Only Pick)*

The Stars have won two games in a row, both on the road, defeating the Phoenix Coyotes 3-1 last night, and shutting out the Anaheim Ducks 2-0 on Saturday. The Sharks have had a rough go as of late, losing their latest outing at Home by a score of 2-5 via the Philadelphia Flyers. The Sharks squeezed past the Blackhawks on Saturday, coming out ahead 2-1 in a shootout. Before that game, the Sharks had lost three in a row, which includes a 1-4 loss to Calgary, a 3-0 shutout by the Edmonton Oilers, and were also shutout 1-0 by the Los Angeles Kings on January 27. The Sharks may score 2.82 goals per game overall (8th), but have scored just 1.90 goals per game over their last 10 games, and have scored just 5 goals in their last 5 games, an average of just 1 goal per game. What has happened to the Sharks offense? They were held scoreless against the worst defense in the NHL (Edmonton: 3.34 GA/G), and scored just 1 goal against Calgary, the 4th worst defense in the League. The Stars are playing better hockey than the Sharks are right now, winning two in a row, both as huge underdogs. The Dallas offense has scored 2.90 goals per game over their last 10 games, while allowing an impressive 2.00 goals against per game in that span. Overall, the Dallas offense ranks 10th with 2.82 G/G, while their defense is 18th overall with 2.80 GA/G. The Stars power play has been hot over their last 10 games, going an impressive 27.0% on the power play. The Sharks have had success only 10.7% of the time on the power play over their L10 games. The Dallas penalty kill has also been more effective than the Sharks (over last 10 games), going 86.2% on the penalty kill, while the Sharks were only 81.5% of the time. Kari Lehtonen is probable for Dallas tonight, and is 21-15-9 on the season with a 2.53 GAA (23rd) and a .916 SV% (20th), and 3 shutouts (8th). Keri played impressive against Phoenix in his last outing, finishing the game with an impressive .964 SV%. Antti Niemi is probable for San Jose and has a record of 28-12-6 with a 2.40 GAA (16th) and a .912 SV% (26th) and 2 shutouts (19th). The Stars recent form has been much better than that of the Sharks; we will gladly take the Dallas club tonight for a very generous price.
